Early Childhood
Pre-K 2 to 4
Dance encourages young learners to explore movement and self-expression through creative activities. Guided by the Reggio Emilia approach, teachers tailor dance experiences to the children’s interests, helping them develop coordination, rhythm, and spatial awareness. Dance sessions incorporate music and play, fostering both physical and emotional growth while laying the foundation for future learning.
Elementary School
Kindergarten to Grade 5
Dance helps students from Kindergarten through Grade 5 explore creativity and movement through a variety of activities. Young dancers build basic skills in rhythm, spatial awareness, and body control while engaging in fun and imaginative exercises that encourage self-expression and collaboration.
As students progress, the program introduces more complex concepts, such as choreography and character-driven movement. In Grade 1, students begin experimenting with dance to tell stories, while Grade 2 emphasizes character development through expressive movement. By Grade 4, students explore diverse dance styles from around the world, gaining an understanding of cultural traditions and performance techniques.
By Grade 5, students focus on refining their choreography and performance skills. They engage in collaborative projects that allow them to showcase their growth as confident dancers, prepared for more advanced opportunities in the world of dance. Throughout the program, the emphasis is on creativity, teamwork, and building a strong foundation in the art of dance.
SECONDARY School
Grades 6-12
Dance is integrated into the Physical Education curriculum from middle school through high school, offering students the opportunity to explore movement in various forms. In grades 6, 7, and 8, students engage in dance alongside other physical activities such as yoga, fitness, and team sports. These courses introduce students to different dance styles, promoting physical coordination, flexibility, and creative expression. Through participation in these dance units, students develop a deeper understanding of movement, rhythm, and teamwork..
In high school, students can deepen their dance education with specialized courses like Thai Classical Dance. This semester-long course introduces students to the history and performance of traditional Thai dance, covering various forms such as Ra-Bum, Rum, and Fawn. Students learn not only the technical aspects of these dances but also gain an appreciation for Thai culture and its artistic heritage. The course emphasizes creativity, performance, and cultural preservation, giving students the opportunity to present their work in various settings and gain recognition for their understanding of Thai local wisdom.
